Frequently Asked Questions
7 questionsAstra is a Solana-based decentralised wealth protocol that combines DeFi primitives — staking, liquidity pools, and token markets — with a space-exploration theme. Users can stake ASTRA tokens to earn yields, participate in governance, and reserve seats on future space missions through Voyager.
Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top-right corner of the navigation bar. Astra supports all major Solana wallets including Phantom, Solflare, and Backpack. Make sure your wallet is set to Mainnet depending on the environment.
Astra has four staking tiers based on the amount of ASTRA staked: Bronze (entry level), Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Higher tiers unlock better APY rates and priority access to Voyager tickets. Voting on governance proposals is open to every active staker; submitting new proposals is reserved for Platinum holders.
Voyager is Astra's space-reservation system. Tickets are priced in both USD and ASTRA tokens. Availability and launch windows are updated through community governance. You can browse available missions on the Voyager page and reserve seats using your connected wallet.
Any active staker — Bronze through Platinum — can vote on governance proposals that affect the protocol, including new Voyager missions, liquidity pools, token listings, and infrastructure depots. Submitting a proposal is restricted to Platinum-tier stakers. A proposal needs 51% of cast stake-weighted votes to pass to board review, after which the board makes the final approval.
APYs are calculated based on trading volume, pool depth, and protocol fee parameters. They fluctuate with market conditions. Governance can propose changes to fee tiers or add new pools. Current pool stats are visible on the Dashboard and can be traded on the Markets page.
Astra is built natively on Solana using the Anchor framework. There are no multi-chain bridges at this time. Solana was chosen for its high throughput and low transaction fees, which are critical for the real-time trading and staking operations the protocol requires.
